Customer Question

my toyota won't crank on. Battery is good. Replaced the starter but now it won't even crank. The alarm went off and I don't have a remote to turn it off. I'm thinking it could have a kill switch between the starter and ignition if the alarm is on.
JA: Have you checked the fuel supply? And are all the spark plugs working?
Customer: Yes
JA: What is the model/year of your Toyota?
Customer: 1996 camry
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I tried replacing the starter, charging the battery, and jumping the car.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Toyota Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

I don't have a diagnostic scanner. I have 2 keys. There's 89k miles on it. I believe the battery died because I left the lights on. I recharged the battery. Didn't work. Tried jump starting the car, didn't work. Replaced the battery, didn't work. I don't remember what triggered the alarm. I believe it was when I opened the hood the first time. Anytime I open a door or anything even if it is unlocked the alarm sounds. I don't have a remote to disarm the alarm. I am thinking of trying to take out the alarm completely.
