Voltage at underhood 12v terminal measures exactly 0.00v.

Customer Question

Voltage at underhood 12v terminal measures exactly 0.00v. What else is there between that terminal and the positive battery terminal?
JA: Have you tested the battery? Is the battery fluid low?
Customer: Already acid battery dying normally never gets to zero volts. It is like someone pushed the smart car button below the dash, but it is "out". There is no sign battery theft, but I can't open the back door to look.
JA: What year is your V?
Customer: 2008
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I was hoping to hook up my charger but first measured the zero volts. The last (original) one gave plenty of warning as it failed.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: He should look at a wiring diagram and learn what else is in the wire that goes from battery plus to the front jump-start terminal.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Toyota Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.
