There are quite a few things that can cause four wheel drive to not engage. It could be an axle disconnect issue, the transfer case motor, wiring or the control module, or a mechanical issue in the transfer case or front differential.

Was the vacuum line repaired?

In four wheel drive does the front driveshaft turn?
