Transfer case actuator or differential actuator?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Transfer case
Expert:  scionking replied 1 year ago.

Are you trying to replace without removing the transfer case?

I highly recommend removing the transfer case to preform this, as I have only seen failure when attempting to do this repair without transfer case removal and partial disassemble.

Would you like to proceed with this without removing the case from the vehicle?

I'm having a hard time finding an exact picture of what is needed to align.

I found this post on a forum below, it is for a Gx470 which only has one shift rod, yours should have two, although this may give you a better insight on how the system works, there are some good pictures and explanation of how this works.

It really is a hard task to line these up correctly after removing, it will take trial and error.
