Ted, my illumination lights in the dashboard aren't working

Customer Question

Hi Ted, my illumination lights in the dashboard aren't working on my 2001 Solara. Specifically just the lights that illuminate the spedometer and gas gauge. After doing some troubleshooting of my own I've found that there seems to be a short with the rheostat switch. I also found that the controls for the side mirrors also doesn't work which has led me to this conclusion. Is this easy to fix?

Hello, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I just saw your question and request

Do the tail lights/parking lights work?

Have you checked the 'tail' fuse?

Tried bypassing the rheostat switch?
