I have 97 camry v6. The oil light flickered and the car lost

Customer Question

Doug, i have 97 camry v6. The oil light flickered and the car lost power and died. I turned off the engine and there was enough oil. Started the car and same thing happened and car died. Could this be a bad oil sending unit or oil pump

Hello and welcome to Justanswer!
I expect the oil light was coming on as the engine died or because it was idling low. If oil pressure was actually low then you would most likely be hearing knocking or ticking from the engine; if the engine dies or idle speed is low enough because it's running poorly then the oil light is going to come on.
Do you hear any abnormal noise from the engine?
Have you checked for fault codes?
Do you hear the fuel pump running when the key is first turned on?
