Camry: Amedee! I have a 2007 Toyota Camry that get stuck

Customer Question

Hi Amedee! I have a 2007 Toyota Camry that get stuck in park intermittently. Sometimes it's fine other times won't move. Took it to a garage and had them pay to check solenoid(sp?) which checked out fine. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

Hello and Welcome! I'm Billy and i will assist you with your inquiry. Feel free to ask if any further info is needed.
When you get the problem (stuck in P), check if the brake lights are operating with the brake pedal depressed, and get back to me with the result.
As this problem would most likely be within:
- brake light switch
- wiring from this to the shift lock module
- shift lock module inside the shifter faulty
If the brake light switch is good (lights turning on, when activated), then we would need to check the wiring (mostly the connector) to the shift lock control module (under the selector lever), and if wiring is good, then the module needs replacing.
Kindly get back to me with the results, so we proceed accordingly.
Regards,
Billy
