Toyota Corolla: I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla with a check engine

Customer Question

I have a 2006 Toyota Corolla with a check engine light issue. I asked the dealer to replace the gas cap, since I found this was the issue at times and the gasket was probably not sealing the gas port properly. Since the new gas cap, the check engine light remains on. What suggestions now? Unfortunately I didn't ask for my old original gas cap once replaced.

Do you know what the exact fault code numbers are that they gave you? There are over 500 fault codes that can set the check engine light, and each one has anywhere from 1 to 20 possible causes. So without knowing the fault codes, it would simply be a wild guess
