I have a 2002 Toyota camry that has a squealing noise when I run the A/C and step on the gas lightly. it goes away once the car is moving.

Spray a little WD 40 or some kind of lubricant on the belt and see if the noise goes away. If it does and the belt looks good then you may have a failing belt tensioner.

I will try that. To replace the belt tensioner, how much "stuff" will I need to remove to replace it? Just the belt? Quite a few items in that area and limited space.

Just the belt and tensioner. But it is tight and a lift is really helpful.
