2006 Toyota 4runner v6 auto sport model 4wd...transmission indicator light blinking...whats the meaning...its definately storing codes as the blinking changes speed and number

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING JUST ANSWER, AND FOR ALLOWING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASSIST YOU WITH YOUR AUTOMOTIVE CONCERNS.What this means is there is a fault with one of the transmission solenoids or sensors, or it saw a fault due to slight slippage/etc. at this point you need to disconnect the battery neg. cable from the battery, then drive the vehicle and see if the light starts blinking again, if not then more then likely it was a glitch from solenoids or wheel slippage, if it comes back on then you will have to have a scan test performed to see what the code is (this will tell if it is a solenoid or range selector switch or a voltage issue/etc) So at this point I would remove the neg. battery cable for 5 mins. then reconnect it and drive to see if all is good (this will clear out codes and reset adaptive), Thanks,Please let me know
would this be related to any sensors at wheels? vehicle runs and shifts fine..thought it was a bulb going out at first...what means areset adaptive? My dodge pu had a thing where if the computer reset it "relearned" how you drove to shift more effixciently
This is more related to the transmission/transfer case (if 4x4) And Yes, Dodge has a relearn procedure so that the computer can learn how a drivers habits are, But what we have here is if the computer has seen a glitch, Like wheels spinning (or it thinks it did/etc) by removing the neg. cable it will then take a good look at all sensors and then you drive it, if then the light comes back on, then there is a true issue (see so many times we see vehicle that come in to our Dealership with fault codes and it is due to glitches, So we reset computer, charge customer and all is good (except for the customers have to pay for a reset!) So do this and then get back to me with the results, So we can see if it is just glitch or we need to procede further! Thanks,Please let me know
