Our 2003 highlander's anti -theft system has been activated and there isn't any power. I can't unlock the steering wheel to shift gear so I can move it from the garage to jump start the car. How can I solve the problem?Thanks,William Rae

Hello and thank you for using just answer! This is NOT because of the anti-theft system. You have a bd battery, a jump start only works with a discharged battery not a bad cell or completely dead one. If you jerk th steering wheel left to right while turning the key it will unlock the steering wheel. If the battery won't take a charge then you need to replace it. The truck takes a group 24f battery that you can get at any auto prts store. The only thing your anti-theft system can disable on this vehicle is the fuel injectors which keeps it from running, it won't interfere with any other systems. Reply back if you need more input. The steering wheel won't unlock when using your advice. There is no power at all and I believe that is the reason why it doesn't react to the jerking of the wheel.
The steering lock is not electric on this one. The only way the wheel locks is when it's turned while the key is not turned, the only way to unlock the steering wheel is to turn it hard left to right while turning on th ky to unlock the mechanical lock.

I don't consider my rating to be negative. You did provide an opinion that eliminated one of the possible problems that I was considering, but I still have the problem. I'm having the car towed to a Toyota dealer and have them take a look at it.
