Replacing the Rzeppa joints is indeed a very large job.

how long would this normally take

Each joint currently goes for approx 800 dollars US

You can spend up to 6 hours labour on this job

umm doesn't sound like a cheap job

One thing to remember...have them replace the ball and socket gaskets whilst they are doing the job, and keep the ball lubrication topped off
