2000 Toyota Sienna: drivers side..getting warning

This answer was rated:

The driver's side power window on my 2000 Toyota Sienna mini-van has been getting stuck on occasion on the way up and down for a couple of years now. It happens randomly with no warning and then doesn't do it for weeks. Advice?
Hello and thank you for using just answer! These motors have a thermal limit switch inside them, if the window has resistance to move then it shuts down until th motor cools. Most commonly sticky/hardened window run seals cause motor wear and failure. Spray some silicone spray down each side of the seal that the window rides in and run the window up and down to set this in. If the problem persists then plan on having the window motor replaced.

How long will the silicone spray last? Will it be something that has to be done on a regular basis? Any idea how much a window motor costs? Thank you so much!
silicone spray should be put in the window runs about once a year to keep things working normally. If you want you can use wd-40 it's just not as effective. A new window motor is about $300.
