Hello, the covers on the ends have retaining claws on them and they are pried off using a plastic pry tool, the factory roof rack crossbars have arrows on them these must face foreward. Placing the front bar too cloose to the rear bars can create wind noise, space the front crossbar farther apart, this may be trial and error for minimum wind noise.
I don not have the plastic pry tool; in the installation instruction, they indicate using a "nylon removal tool." This was not included in the box; is there something else I could use in it's place?
Most autoparts stores have the plastic removal tool, I would recommend using it to avoid damage to the end caps. A Screwdriver with the end wrapped with electrical tape can be used if nothing else is available.
Where/how do I insert the pry tool into the leg cover to pry it off? When prying, do I simply pry it up? Once the leg cover is off, does it simply snap back into place?
I would start prying at the rear inside of the corner and pry away from the bar, I know these can be very tight and may require some effort, after removal they simply snap back in place.
Thanks for your help.
You're welcome, happy thanksgiving.
One more question: how many snaps have to be pried off?
I think there are three, two at the rear and one near the front. That's why I suggest starting at the rear.
