Brake torque test, the brake pedal keeps kicking back a lot..pushing

Resolved Question:

When the brake and gas pedals are pressed at the same time to perform brake torque test, the brake pedal keeps kicking back a lot. Also, looks like the car is pushing forward while it should stay since the brake pedal is pressed. Does not look normal?

Hello,

That's because the ABS motor is kicking in and out and reacting to the power braking. That is normal and is going to happen :-)

what about when I put in reverse the car jerks?
Expert:  Virtual Wrench replied 5 years ago.
Hi,

When you power brake it in reverse?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
sorry, no I mean normal switching between drive and reverse with the brake pedal on, of course.

Thanks,

This sure sounds like you were trying to check the motor and trans mounts here.

I think you are on the right track, but you cant easily test them like you used to be able to do on older cars so you just have to get under it with a pry bar and check for any excessive movement in them....kinda hard for me to say exactly what it is thats causing this without being there,,,just like noise questions are real tough as well...

nothing suspicious with the mounts. Could it be a tranny problem?

Hi,

I had one in last week that did the "jerk in reverse" and it happened to be internal in the trans, so yes it sure could be.
