The Maintenace Required lamp is pre-programmed to come on at certain milage intervals to alert you that it is time to change the oil. If the oil was recently changed, the service Tech most likely forgot to reset the light. The light should be reset after every oil change to insure the reminder system and oil change intervals are in sync. You can reset the light yourself by folling this method:

Engine Oil Reset Procedure

  • Turn the engine switch OFF with the odometer reading shown.
  • Turn the engine switch to the ON position while holding down the trip meter reset button.
  • Continue to press and hold the button until the odometer displays 000000.
