ToyotaTom :

Hello, and thank you for choosing Just Answer to help you with your questions!

I know that saginaw makes kits for this exact conversion
http://www.cruiseroutfitters.com/powersteering.html

Here is a good link to read up on that should help you immensely.
http://forum.ih8mud.com/co-wy-horsetooth-4-wheelers-cruiser-club/84527-fj60-power-steering-conversion-fj40-while-keeping-air-pump.html

ToyotaTom :

Check those, and if you have any more questions, please let me know. I know that it's pretty common to use fj60 parts, as well as 79-85 toyota pickup parts.

ToyotaTom :

here's another link that may help you http://www.drivetrainconnection.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_10_49&products_id=107&zenid=e6d00945f40463eccdba4876bf07dceb

ToyotaTom :

Really, anything is possible if you're handy with a welder and aren't afraid of a little fabrication. but the above is the most common conversions, with "kits" available that would include everything you need, without the experimenting and guess work on your part
