2008 Highlander Sport: hybrid..Wont start..Lights come on dimly

This answer was rated:

I have a 2008 Highlander Sport (not a hybrid). Won't start and just get a fast clicking sound when it should turn over. Lights come on dimly. The battery indicator light is red. Wondering if it is worth having it towed to the dealer or just replace battery myself.
Well, if you have under 36,000 miles then the tow bill and battery replacement will both be covered under warranty. I'd recommend calling them and getting touch with the service department to either arrange the tow truck, or some dealers are able to just send someone out to your house to change the battery for you and they'll bring the old one back to the dealership with them.
