2001 tacoma 4x4: the front shocks/struts, does the spring need

Customer Question

Hi there,
Question on a 2001 tacoma 4x4, in order to replace the front shocks/struts, does the spring need to be compressed before removal or is the spring/shock removed as a unit and then compressed and exchanged?
Thank you
