My 95 SC Previa needs fluid for the supercharger. I have heard that the GM fluid (1/10th the price) is fine. Is that correct? other suggestions?
Hello, and Welcome to Just Answer. Please let me try to assist you.
The exact wording from the shop manual is this:
Supercharger oil (Part No. 08885-80108) or equivalent
At 45 bucks a pop, I would be using "the equivalent". I see nothing that mentions "use this oil because it is "special", like Toyota's T-4 auto trans fluid.
Before you do anything with the oil, did you use the proper procedure to check it?
The dipstick needs to be rotated fully clockwise to provide you an accurate reading.
