Customer Question

I have a Toyota Hiace 2002 2.5 D4D diesel. Im from the UK . It started with a runnung fault and going into limp mode (ECU light On), we plugged a computer into it and the fault was low fuel pressure to pump, we fitted a new pump and now it runs fine for 5mintes and goes into limp mode again. We have plugged the computer back in and now it reads high fuel preesure in the the fuel rail. We have cleaned the 2 switches in the rail and it still comes up with the same fault . Has anyone had this type of fault before or any ideas?
Thanks
Darren

Hi,

P0087

Fuel Rail / System Pressure - Too Low

- Open or short in fuel pressure sensor circuit

- Fuel pressure sensor

- ECM

Comes on

DTC stored

1KD-FTV <a href=ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: ECD SYSTEM: P0087,P0190,P0192,P0193: Fuel Rail / System Pressure - Too Low (2006-2009 Hiace)" title="1KD-FTV ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: ECD SYSTEM: P0087,P0190,P0192,P0193: Fuel Rail / System Pressure - Too Low (2006-2009 Hiace)" width="35" height="18"/>

P0088

Fuel Rail / System Pressure - Too High

- Supply pump (suction control valve)

- Pressure discharge valve

- Short in supply pump (suction control valve) circuit

- Open in pressure discharge valve circuit

- ECM

Comes on

DTC stored

From the chart above it seems that the only possible link between these two codes is the ECM. It sounds like you are having a problem with the computer. If possible recommend swapping out with known good part.
