replace spark plugs 2001 toyota avalon 6 cyl
Hello and thank you for using just answer. Are you asking how to replace, how often to replace or how expensive?
I want to know exactly what has to be removed to install spark plugs in a 2001 six cylinder toyota?
Thank you for the reply. Any service manual you read including the toyota manual will tell you that you have to remove the upper intake manifold......this is 3 hours of agrivating and UNNEEDED removal. THe front plugs are easy to replace, simply remove the beauty cover that is on top of the engine and the 3 plugs are right there with the coils. Takes 5 minutes to change the front ones on the radiator side.
The rear ones under the intake at the firewall is what intimidates everyone, the manual calls for intake removal. THis is not needed, if you remove the pcv valve hose you can reach your hands in under the intake from each side to remove the ignition coils and with a variety of different length extensions you can easily remove the spark plugs from the rear. I have been doing these for years and can replace all 6 spark plugs in about 15 minutes time. For a first timer this job should take no more then an hour.
Will this work on the AVALON 2001 sedan?
