1997 toyota rav4: i troubleshoot the ignition system..efi

1997 toyota rav4 will not start, no fire, how do i troubleshoot the ignition system? i suspect it maybe the igniter, i checked the efi fuse. and others. customer replaced battery however they blew the 80 & 100 amp fuses, replaced them & have power on all circuits



DOes the check engine light come on with the key in the on position?


Is there power to the ignition coil with the key on?

no check engine light, but i do have power to the coil

Well this is our problem!


The computer is not waking up. THe check engine light is supposed to come on for a bulb check.


This means the computer is not waking up.


CHeck all computer fuses, circuit breakers and fusible links. The fuse might be labeled ecm, pcm, or ecu.

There will be at least two fuse locations. One or two under the hood and one iside the car.
