Traffic Ticket Questions

What is a traffic ticket?

A traffic ticket may be a legal notice that is issued to an individual by the law enforcement authorities for violating traffic rules and regulations. An individual may have to either face punishments or pay fines if they have been given a traffic ticket. An individual can also sometimes face suspension of their driver’s license if they do not pay the traffic ticket. It is important for people to know about traffic tickets if they have been issued one. Given below are important questions about traffic tickets answered by Experts.

Should an individual attend traffic school if they were to get a texting while driving ticket?

In most situations, a texting while driving ticket may not add points on an individual’s driving record. Hence, the individual may only pay the traffic ticket fine and not attend the traffic school. The traffic school may be used for another offense which may add points on their Department of Motor Vehicle record.

Can an individual pay fine for a traffic ticket online if he/she wants a duplicate license?

An individual may pay for a traffic ticket online before applying for a duplicate license. The payment may be processed as soon as he/her pays for it. Once the payment is done, the individual may have to go to the Department of Motor Vehicle in person to get the duplicate license.

Can an individual prevent information about a traffic ticket from appearing on their record if they have already paid a traffic ticket?

In some situations, if an individual pays for the traffic ticket and pleads no contest, the individual can be considered to be guilty of the traffic violation and the conviction may appear on the individual’s record. However, some states in the United States can allow individuals to take up traffic school to erase the points from his/her record.

Can an individual sell a car with unpaid parking tickets in Florida?

The rules and regulations regarding parking tickets may differ from state to state in the United States. In some states like Florida, when an individual gets a parking ticket, it may be attached to the car’s license plate and not the car itself. When the car is sold, the new owner of the car may get a new license plate and the old owner may continue to remain liable for the parking tickets. Hence, it may be possible for the individual to sell the car with pending parking tickets on it.

What can an individual do to prevent a warrant if he/she misses a court date for a traffic ticket hearing?

If an individual misses a court date for a traffic ticket hearing, he/she may go and pay the fine in person. It may take a few days before a warrant is issued in the individual’s name. Hence, if he/she pays the fine, the warrant may not be issued. He/she may have the option of paying the fine online as well. However, most of the times, if the payments are accepted online, the system may not get updated and hence, it may show as payment not made.

Not paying a traffic ticket can lead to further punishment and penalty. Depending on which state you are in and what violation you have committed, there may be various ways in which you may be able to pay for the traffic ticket and different kinds of penalties if you do not pay. You can ask an Expert if you want more information about traffic tickets.

I have a 2006 Ford F150 4x4 I purchased at York Ford in Houlton, Maine. I purchased Vehicle in Jan of 2014. I have a 2 year 25000 mile warranty. This vehicle has had constant problems and has been in the shop reason just about every month since I have had it. The power steering pump has been replaced 3 times, motor has been replaced countless coil replacement. now it needs a new set of plugs and they tell me the cataltic converter is plugged. a total cost of approximently $1100.00. which is not covered under warranty. The problems I have had with this vehicle are non stop. At a payment of $480.00 a month I shouldn't have to spend this much money . Will this vehicle fall under lemon law?

    as far as I know I was going 65 in a 55 and I got a ticket 71 - what should I do?
  • I have a pickup truck which I use use not commercial,

I have a pickup truck which I use use not commercial, recently I was given a ticket 3 8.1 because the bed of the truck contained a small seven foot "A" frame ladder. The ladder was used to remove Christmas decorations which was explained to the officer at the time. The vehicle has no signage, racks or any commercial markings. I have my federal tax documents which classifies my business category in which it is obvious a truck is not required, an insurance letter from my broker which states my vehicle is not used commercially and the dealer registered my new vehicle upon purchase, not me personally. Two questions: Being I did not register the vehicle personally render me not liable? And, does my defense evidence seem sufficient dismissal? I also have my business liability policy which classifies my business, again a truck is not needed nor required.
