Can my license be revoked if I received a speeding ticket of
Can my license be revoked if I received a speeding ticket of 60 in a 45 mph highway, in Onslow County, North Carolina. It is my first legal offense in the last 7 years and the first in the said state. What are my legal options besides showing up in court or waiving the ticket via online ticket pay?

My 20 year old son is a student at Clemson University, very good student, plays sports etc. He has no other speeding or other moving violations previous to this incident. He and his roommate were driving to Easely last Friday morning. He was talking and "not paying "attention" and he received a speeding ticket. 91 in a 65 mile zone. The officer clocked him at 88 and 91??? In SC it is 6 points. I believe it is 5 in Maryland. The officer told him to come to court and they would talk about it. I e-mailed a traffic attorney in Columbia, he advised him to go to court and if he didn't feel comfortable then he would go with/for him and we would pay him the fee. Our questions: 1. Speeding is misdemeanor in SC. My son desparately wants to attend medical school will this be a problem? 2.) Our insurance, I have several boys.... I know they will be notified. 3.) What happens to his driving record in Maryland? I read that Maryland may or may not give him the points? 4.)He wanted to know if defensive driving school in lieu of any ramifications in Maryland is an option. He would take it over Christmas break. 5.) SHould I get an attorney to go? WHat is the best way to minimize the damange please? Thank you
Pearl. We reside in Fayette county, issue is for traffic
Good morning, Pearl. We reside in Fayette county, issue is for traffic ticket from Jessamine County, Kentucky. My girlfriend recently discovered that a traffic ticket (headlight out) had NOT been taken care of, a warrant was issued, and she was picked up on a random traffic check. We bailed her out, and she has called repeatedly to find out when her court date was. the clerks kept telling her to call back, and last call was 10.20.16 when she was told it could take up to 10 business days for her bond and info to be received from here in fayette county, and to call back in another 3-5 business days. I had asked her last night if she'd heard back anything, and we decided to see if there was a way to schedule on line. To our shock, we found out that she had a court date *yesterday morning* (10.27.16), and had never received *any* notification. Her concern is that she now has a new warrant, has lost the bail, and will have to go to jail again before she can get a new date, etc - need advice on how to proceed.JA: Since laws vary from place to place, what state is this in? And when was the warrant issued?Customer: Kentucky - warrant *may* be issued from yesterday. We're not sure yet. We're trying to be forewarned, forearmed, and prepared with contingencies before calling jessamine co courthouseJA: Has anything been filed or reported?Customer: We are not sure yet. We discovered the court date had been set without her knowledge last night around 11.30 pmJA: Anything else you want the lawyer to know before I connect you?Customer: those are the main salient points. i can fill any additional gaps in as needed.
Dear Justanswer community, I need to renew my automobile
Dear Justanswer community,I need to renew my automobile registration in thre mext 5 days. I moved addresses this past year, though I still receive some mail at my old address and am still closely connected to the family there. For purposes of votong in the federal election Nov 8th, I am voting at my old polling station in New Jersey. (I called voter registration offices in NJ, and they suggested, unoffivcially, just to wait intil after the election to inform THEM of any address change, to keep things simple.)Question: IF I report an address change to the DMV, so that my registration and driver's license will show my new physical address, will it affect my ability to vote at my old polling station, which is based on my old address? My impression is that they do not check id at all. It is not my first time voting there. I ought to be in their books under the old address. Even if they do check ID, I could bring my US passport, in which I did not write any address. My auto insurance id card already shows my new address, so I imagine DMV will be reluctant to renew my registration using the old address. Secondary question: That said, why is it important for registration and license to show the current address. What's the drawback of carrying a registration and license with the old address?Thank you so much!JB, New Jersey :)
Should I hire a lawyer for this? What do you recommend and
Should I hire a lawyer for this? What do you recommend and if I should how much should it cost?I received a misdemeanor summons in Stamford, CT for 14-219 last night on my way home. The short of it is that there was a flatbed tow truck on Washington Blvd driving erratically and taking up both lanes and I flashed my lights at him and when he finally moved over I put my Prius in power mode and stepped on the gas to pass him. Apparently I got up to 66 mph in a 35 mph zone (I was watching the road and not my mph). Thanks for your advice.
