I recently (one month ago) was fortunate enough to inherit a wonderful rescue doggie who had no medical or background history. I have a long history of rescue doggies, and they have all been spayed or neutered. I immediately took Rose to my vet who told me she was between 1 and 2 years old but there was no way we could tell if she had been spayed. Well, as he told me, I would find out, and boy, did I. I understand there is a 3 week period and I have 2 male neutered dogs, and have kept everyone apart, moving from bedroom to bedroom, and am wondering how long this must go on. I am living in adolescent doggie hell!! When is it safe to put everyone together, and I understand I should wait one month after her heat to have her spayed. Help!!!
My 6 month old puppy was neutered yesterday. He is actually
Hello,My 6 month old puppy was neutered yesterday. He is actually doing really well overall (despite being quite stressed initially by the cone) with the exception that he hasn't pooped since yesterday morning at 6am. I figured he may not go yesterday, but I am more concerned that he hasn't gone yet today. Is this typical after neutering? How long is within the realm of "normal" before I should worry?I have gone ahead and given him some pumpkin today to try and get things moving per my vet's suggestion. He also suggest sweet potatoes, which I will give him tonight for dinner. I think I am also more concerned because we are coming into a holiday weekend. Any guidance or advice would be much appreciated! Thank you!
