JVC Projection TV Problems

JVC Projection TV uses Digital Image Scaling Technology that offers it viewers an excellent quality of picture with high definition resolution and crisp display. The JVC projection TV also provides a surround sound effect with a variety of audio/video inputs. Once in awhile, just as with any electronic it is common to face a few problems with the TC. Few of the common problems faced by these TV viewers are power and lamp issues, snowing and ghosting, locked channels and so on. Below are frequent asked questions on issues relating to JVC Projection TV sets that have been answered by the Experts.

What could cause multi blended colors and double characters on the picture of a JVC Projection TV screen?

In some cases, it looks like the convergence circuit inside the TV could have failed along with other circuitry parts. Many times a person may opt to fix and repair the problem on their own by buying a kit to help solder the components on the circuit board. At times an Expert may be better suited to help aid in the repair.

What could cause a JVC Projection TV color wheel to spin and power light blinks but not to turn on ?

Usually, when a TV is turned on, the color wheel spins first, then the ballast starts to fire and finally the lamp lights up. However, in some cases, the lamp fails to light up, causing such symptoms to occur. Therefore, the only way to repair this unit is by replacing this faulty lamp. Usually, these lamps can be purchased and are easily replaced. For replacing the lamp, you could check your user manual wherein you would get the replacement instructions.

If a JVC Projection TV does not turn on and the green power light blinks when the TV starts and there is a loud buzzing sound coming from behind the TV, what could be the problem?

There could be many reasons that may cause this problem to arise. The most probable one could be a bad convergence circuit. Usually, these circuits line up all the colors on the TV screen. But, if there is a short in these circuits, then it is likely these circuits could cause the set to shut off. Alternately, there could be several other different possibilities that may cause such problems. Those could be a faulty horizontal circuit, a bad deflection board, a defective main board, fluid leak, a high voltage circuit and so on to name a few. Therefore, in order to figure out the exact cause of this problem, a troubleshooting Expert may be needed. If you have problems in watching your JVC Projection TV, all you need to do is contact a technician and have him repair the unit immediately. Even a little delay could make matters worse. If you need clarification about your specific situation with respect to issues related to JVC Projection TV sets, you may ask a TV Technician Expert to evaluate your case details and provide a technical insight.

have a 32" JVC flat screen (when they first came out), is very deep in the back. My son gave it to me about 4 years ago, so I have no manual. Anyway every time I turn it on I noticed a green lite came on on the panel under the screen. Last year it turn itself off and I did know why and that green light kept flashing. I pulled the plug and then turned TV back on and it worked. I noticed that under the green lite it says "ON TIMER." This week end it's happening a lot and I keep pulling the plug to reset it, but then it goes out again. It must have happened about three times today. I won't even keep working. I have not set any timers because from day one with this TV I did not know how. So what does it mean that the TV goes out and that green lite starts flashing?

  • JVC HD61FN97. Power surge but tv was on surge protector.

JVC HD61FN97. Power surge but tv was on surge protector. Popping noise when power is turned on, lamp light flashes in ( second intervals, bulb will not illuminate and then tv shuts down with blue light flashing one second interval. Opened tv and don't see any physical damage to power supply or board with ballast on it. Tapped on boards to see if it was a loose solder connection. Fans do not turn on. Any ideas? Have no test equipment to check voltages.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris
