Hello,We have an HV furnace that operates off of natural gas, when the heat is on or A/C we don't have any problems or shut off noises. However, when we do use the heat in coordination with our Aprilair Humidifier when the furnace shut off after a cycle we hear a bang. Any ideas? It sounds like when metal pops out.

I've recently moved into a house that has a Rheem Prestige

I've recently moved into a house that has a Rheem Prestige modulating LP furnace with updraft orientation, a Honeywell humidifier with a GeneralAire humidistat, and Electronic Air Cleaner (EAC). Everything seems to be working fine except for the humidifier and that seems to be due to the fact that no voltage ever appears on the Humidifier contacts on the Integrated Furnace Control (IFC). The humidifier is connected to those contacts via a transformer. The IFC is made by UT Electronic Controls and is model 1137-1 or 62-24174-02. The EAC contacts are powered appropriately but not the Humidifier. It must have been working in the past because there was a heavy buildup of scale on the humidifier pad. I suppose the Humidifier relay could be blown but I'm inclined to believe that it's never receiving a voltage from the IFC microprocessor and that some condition is not being satisfied for the microprocessor to act accordingly. The thermostat is a very basic unit with R,G,Y and W connected to the IFC. Any help you might offer would be greatly appreciated.

Attempting to replace my downstairs (main level) thermostat

Attempting to replace my downstairs (main level) thermostat with a Nest. I have wires on O&B but do not have a heat pump. Cannot find anywhere that this scenario would be possible. I do have a humidifier unit near my gas furnace though. Could this be related? I also have an upstairs thermostat, which is somehow dependent on downstairs thermostat, as downstairs unit must be set to heat or cool accordingly for the upstairs to function. Again, not sure if this is relevant.

We are having a new furnace and humidifier installed in our

We are having a new furnace and humidifier installed in our offices. The HVAC company hooked the water line for the humidifier into the hot water line. I assumed it was supposed to go to the cold side. I contacted JA and Rick confirmed what I thought. My brother thought it would be a good idea if I found out why before I addressed this with my HVAC contractor. So, why is it supposed to be tapped into the cold water side?
