Humidity level of 81% inside my home (downstairs in a two story home). I have two heat pumps and the downstairs feels humid. Almost like living in Houston. I'm here in N.C. and the humidify setting on the control is 42% and the dehumidify is 45%. My crawlspace has 6 mil plastic and automatic vents. This summer has been hot and more humid than normal. It has rained almost every week. How can I decrease the inside humidity level? What settings should I have until this weather has passed on. I live in the piedmont area of N.C.

I currently have a Honeywell VisionPro IAQ system that is

Hello.I currently have a Honeywell VisionPro IAQ system that is installed in my house (conventional with gas heat) - the system has 2 thermostats (one upstairs, other down). The thermostats used are the TH9421C1004 7 day programmable.I want to replace the thermostats with Honeywell TH8320ZW (these are Z-Wave compatible for use in my home automation system). Here are my problems / concerns:1. The existing thermostat wiring is simply listed as 1, 2, 3 (which are 1=red, 2=white, 3, blue). The new thermostat terminal block has no 1,2,3 but instead an array of letter codes (C, K, R, RC, Y, W, etc). How do I wire this 3 wire into the new terminal block?2. Obviously it appears this IAQ system does much more than just control temp - the system setup on the existing TH9421C1004 thermostat has several options in system setup that the new thermostat doesn't have -- is this a problem? Am I losing functionality?Kind Regards,Barry

I bought a new nest thermostat which requires a c wire.

I bought a new nest thermostat which requires a c wire. Property management said the c wiring exists but it just needs to be connected properly. I have a blue wire (which I assume is the c wire but the terminals do not seem easily identifiable, says e5 where blue wire is connected in the unit) connected via twist connector to a white wire which relays down to where the condensation pan is. A return white wire then comes back up to the unit where it is connected to the small white wires which go through the wall to the thermostat. I am trying to figure out where to connect the smaller blue wire that goes to the thermostat. I thought it would be an easy connecting of blue wire to blue wire but I am having trouble figuring out why the bigger blue wire connected to the unit terminals is then connected to a white wire.

morning! replaced 16 year old programmable thermostat this weekend We have 2 zone gas/forced air heat and central air with an air exchanger and humidifier. This one is working fine, but now the second zone runs constantly and will not shut off at set point. Current thermostat there has R,Y,W with the fourth wire tapped off. Can I switch this to a programmable one with all 4 wiresJA: Did you double-check the thermostat's settings? And what about the filters?Customer: I run a Daycare in the lower level of the house so that is zone 2. Main is set to cool/ fan auto, lower only has temp controlJA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?Customer: yesJA: Anything else we should know to help you best?Customer: right now I have the 2 zone popped off the base and the upstairs is running normal - air kicking on and off at set point and fan only when needed. when I put the 2nd zone beck on the base the fan and air run continuouslyJA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. I have a GeneralAire Dehumidifier in my crawlspace and the compressor is running when it shouldn't be. When I bought the unit the fan and compressor turned on/off at the same time unless it was in defrost mode. Now, when the fan shuts off after the set humidity level is reached the compressor continues to run. Besides the compressor issue, the unit is functioning properly and dehumidifying the air like it did when it was first installed. I'm looking for some input on what the problem may be. Here is a link to the product page with some reference info as well. http://www.generalfilters.com/products/de-humidifiers/de-humidifier-1300/DH70-Dehumidifier_PT916.html
