My bathroom doesn't have an exhaust fan and just a small window. I am concerned about moisture/mold. So I don't have to constantly open and close the small window when showering, would a dehumidifier by effective enough to use in lieu of having an exhaust fan installed?

I am installing an H3280 whole house humidifier. I have limited space and need to install humidifier on the return side. I am placing the bypass hose/duct on the right supply duct and running it to the humidifier. That supply duct is only 10" high X 17" wide. Shouldnt be a problem since bypass duct is 6" in diameter. Now my question: Where can I place my pressure switch and humidistat? Can I place on the opposite side that I will be installing the bypass duct on the 10" X 17" supply duct?

We live in middle Tennessee and the humidity is high but on

we live in middle Tennessee and the humidity is high but on our indoor thermometer it is registering higher in the house at 58% vs. 53% outside. We keep a humidifier in our crawl space as it is tall space large enough to make into a basement if we wanted to. We have a normal walk in door to our crawl spaces and we keep a humidifier under there to keep it dry....as i said, it is not really a basement but almost big enough to be one so we store things under there. Recently our humidifier stopped working and the vent to my closet was blowing up wet air and some of my close near the vent in my closet got mold on them and felt wet. I bought a new humidifier and it is working. My main question is, what is the normal level of humidity in a house if the humidity outside is 53%? We have electric AC and it works GREAT. I am wondering if some of our duct work needs to be resealed under the house. I do not want mold everywhere.

Humidity level of 81% inside my home (downstairs in a two story home). I have two heat pumps and the downstairs feels humid. Almost like living in Houston. I'm here in N.C. and the humidify setting on the control is 42% and the dehumidify is 45%. My crawlspace has 6 mil plastic and automatic vents. This summer has been hot and more humid than normal. It has rained almost every week. How can I decrease the inside humidity level? What settings should I have until this weather has passed on. I live in the piedmont area of N.C.

I currently have a Honeywell VisionPro IAQ system that is

Hello.I currently have a Honeywell VisionPro IAQ system that is installed in my house (conventional with gas heat) - the system has 2 thermostats (one upstairs, other down). The thermostats used are the TH9421C1004 7 day programmable.I want to replace the thermostats with Honeywell TH8320ZW (these are Z-Wave compatible for use in my home automation system). Here are my problems / concerns:1. The existing thermostat wiring is simply listed as 1, 2, 3 (which are 1=red, 2=white, 3, blue). The new thermostat terminal block has no 1,2,3 but instead an array of letter codes (C, K, R, RC, Y, W, etc). How do I wire this 3 wire into the new terminal block?2. Obviously it appears this IAQ system does much more than just control temp - the system setup on the existing TH9421C1004 thermostat has several options in system setup that the new thermostat doesn't have -- is this a problem? Am I losing functionality?Kind Regards,Barry
