I have a Bichon Frise and I've had her for about 7 months

I have a Bichon Frise and I've had her for about 7 months now. She was a story when I got her. She HAD heart worms fleas. The whole nine yards. The thing that stuck with her is "allergies" I've researched her breed and on treatments and nothing has seemed to help. Lady consistently bite herself all day long. The only time she stops is if she's eating or sleeping. Other than that she's biting as her paws. I give her allergy medication once a day, she's had the allergy shot that suppose to last 2 months (didn't work). I even put socks on all four of her paws to keep her from bitting. She's bites at them until they are bleeding and swollen and sometimes doesn't even stop there. I've even tried home remedies. I don't know what else to do. Please help

I have a 6 month old golden retriever puppy. I feed her

I have a 6 month old golden retriever puppy. I feed her Hill's Science Diet. She would always eat her food when she wanted to and I filled it 3 times a day. I knew when she turned 6 months old they don't eat as much and started filling it up only twice a day. This summer we had 2 or 3 episodes of diarrhea/throwing up for about 3 days and then she would be fine. About 3 weeks ago she's stopped eating as much and has had diarrhea off and on. I've caught her eating grass which i know can upset their stomachs but I read they eat it because they are missing nutrients in her diet. I know she is missing them because she isn't eating but don't know if switching her food is the answer. Also, last week she threw up in the night but I thought it was because she got ahold of some spicy deer sausage. Well, last night she threw up and she just did an hour ago today.I'm asking if I should be worried and what i should do? My vet doesn't seem to be worried but it just doesn't feel normal. I don't know if I'm worrying to much and making it up but she looks skinner to me. She is acting her normal self though.

My 9 yr old female border collie, Diamond, has had anal

My 9 yr old female border collie, Diamond, has had anal gland issues for over 4 years. She has had to have sutures placed in one to repair a rupture two years ago. The repair did not hold and she now has issues every few weeks. We've tried more dietary fiber (green beans), sits baths and monthly expression by our vet. We are now considering surgery to remove the right gland that was ruptured. There seems to be a collection of puss within this gland and the old sutures that complicate the condition. What other options do we have? What are the pros and cons of removal?JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Diamond?Customer: She doesn't have any other known conditions, though she hasn't had a blood work up as yet. As with most borders, she is very athletic and an Alpha female. She doesn't tolerate other companions well. She spends most of her days with our two male dogs, another BC and a Sheepdog. She is a "ball dog". Hyper is one way to describe her.

I have two American Bulldog sister puppies at 7 months old.

I have two American Bulldog sister puppies at 7 months old. My problem is since I've had them, they have not had solid stool. The vet I take them too has had them on dewormer, and there rounds of antibiotics, and I've also changed their food to a gastroenteric dry food. I usually feed them twice a day at 2 cups each pet feeding, four cups total. I'm kind of at a loss here. After stool analysis and colon swabs, he seems to think they have no worms, and no antibacterial infection, but as of right now they are supposed to be taking antibiotics (Metronidazole and amoxicillin), plus a probiotic (Well & Good), and Coprophagia deterrent because one and maybe both have taken to eating their stool. My Veterinarian seems to be grasping at straws at this point and before I shell out even more money, I would like to get a second opinion. Their stool isnt mucous filled, but it's the consistency of peanut butter and it smells horribly. And help would be appreciated.BM

I was researching why my boy, 100lb half Newfoundland and

Hi! I was researching why my boy, 100lb half Newfoundland and half Queensland Heeler may be throwing up. He eats a mix of good kibble and cooked, diced, chicken. I give him a few scraps of what I eat but very little. He had vomiting episodes a few weeks ago and I took him into my vet. Full blood tests and he's really healthy. I came home to his entire breakfast on the floor and 5 other piles of bile. While cleaning, he vomited 3 more times. The last little bit had a bit of reddish gel like pieces in it, nothing man made and I can't tell if it's blood.JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully it didn't make a mess. Did your dog eat anything unusual?Customer: No! Just his regular breakfast. Aside from a bit of tennis ball fuzz, he can't digest any of his toys.JA: OK. The Veterinarian will know what to do. What is the dog's name and age?Customer: Jameson, 2yoJA: How old is Jameson?Customer: Two yearsJA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Jameson?Customer: Naw, completely healthy otherwise
