My 8 year old poodle mix has had four occasions of suddenly
My 8 year old poodle mix has had four occasions of suddenly not wanting to eat anything, with a loud stomach and discomfort that ended in diarrhea. The first two times were several days apart about two weeks ago. Last week it happened again but the end of the diarrhea was very bloody, not just streaks. Once it passed he was fine and went back to eating and playing as usual. A day or two later it happened again with even more blood. His stool starts as normal and the tale end is bloody diarrhea. The first three times were in the morning. The most recent time happened in the middle of the night last Saturday. Since he went back to normal after it passed I didn't take him to the emergency pet hospital. Now it's been almost three days of normal stool and eating, although his breath does smell a little odd. During the course of these episodes he was getting into the food I feed my large dogs. He liked it so much that I bought the small breed version. I mixed that with his food the day of or before the first bloody incident so I assumed there must be something in that brand of food that he can't handle, but I'm wondering if it could be something else.
My dog is acting strange. I found her sleeping in the
My dog is acting strange. I found her sleeping in the bathroom this morning, then when I went downstairs I found a brown puddle on the floor. Not sure if it was urine or diarrhea. She hasn't eaten all day. When I came home she usually meets me at the door, instead she was in the hallway and didn't greet me. I called to her and she didn't come. When I went upstairs she followed me. Walking and running just fine. But she didn't jump up on me for me to pet her like normal. She is a very submissive dog and will roll on her back for me to run her belly when I tell her to. She now does this when I just look at her. She's acting like she did something wrong.. But it concerns me that she's not acting happy and the brown puddle, and of course the not eating. She loves her food and is borderline overweight. Any ideas?
I have a 4 year old king charles cavalier - male. I wash him
I have a 4 year old king charles cavalier - male. I wash him once a month with regular dog shampoo. After I wash him, he sheds a lot of hair for a couple of days. It gets better if I brush his hair a lot after I wash him, but I have to brush him for a very long time and he still sheds a lot. When I take him to a groomer and they wash him, he doesn't shed as much - I am not sure if they have a better way of getting his hair out? I have tried different shampoos, he still sheds a lot after I wash him. Is there a way I can make him shed less after I wash him? Should I use a vacuum and just suck his extra hair out?
