I have a Samsung LN40A550P3PXZA LCD TV that I am attempting
Hello,I have a Samsung LN40A550P3PXZA LCD TV that I am attempting to troubleshoot. I am having these problems:- Blinking red power LED = Originally TV would not turn on at all and would just cycle power with a black screen. Backlight would come on but no picture. Replaced power board capacitors and now TV will turn on after a minute or so. Will cycle power a few times before finally turning on.- Picture = picture is clear as far as menu/volume icons go. When I try to connect to HDMI ports (tried a few) I can sometimes see the outline of whats connected and sometimes its just white line static with an obnoxious screeching noise from the speakers.I am now on my second power board. My soldering skills are okay and have replaced nearly every capacitor on the power board as well as checking them on my DMM. I have checked the 5.3V standby leaving the power board and it is good. Fuses have checked out good. Tried using a repair manual but some of the checks in it are nearly impossible to take without shorting out something and causing more issues.I am hoping for advice to help fix this issue that is kicking my butt. Thank you.

Subject: Magnavox tv model no. 37MF331D37, ser no BZ3A0628470483. Original encounter was when was turned on there was a flicker of light in the lower left hand corner of the screen. came on for about 3 seconds and then went dark. after replacing capacitors- 2079, 2080, 2081, and 2082 on the power board the full screen lit up for about 3-4 seconds and also went dark. I cannot find a schematic to take any voltage measurments to make any decisions. Should I just throw it away.

We have set our tv in the fireplace . But this past month we
We have set our tv in the fireplace for years. But this past month we had a blowing rain that came down our chimney and the back of the tv got wet. It, of course, went out. I have continued to try turning it back on and today by pushing the button on the tv, not the remote, it did come on and the picture looks great. However, the sound will not be turned down, it goes back to 100% by itself and it is hopeless to try turning it down. Is there anything I can do to make this work?

Aric, I recently managed to pick up a LG 60PG60 plasma TVView more tv questions
Hi Aric,I recently managed to pick up a LG 60PG60 plasma TV that looks like it hasn't been used in a while. The TV powers on well and it looks fantastic, the problem is that after about an hour or so of watching the TV will power off and then immediately power back on and it will do this repeatedly at quicker intervals the more it is used. Is the TV overheating? Is there something wrong with the power supply board? Thanks!
