I need some assistance. I am a FL. resident that got a citation in Darien, GA (I-95) in November for allegedly driving 86 mph in a 70 mph zone - Violation of state code 40-6-181. Speed was checked by a Laser - Calibration @ 1000Conditions were noted as follows on citation: Weather:Clear, Road: Dry, Blacktop Traffic: Heavy Lighting: DaylightI was the first of 2 cars pulled over - Since I was not going @ 86 mph, I plan to either hire an attorney or go to court myself. (Note that in GA. Super Speeder Charge by State of an additional $200. if 'guilty" of going 15 mph over speed limit on highway)Anyway, I contacted a law firm in the Darien area and they have suggested the following:They will negotiate my case to a guilty plea to Too Fast for Conditions. The fine will be increased by $50 over the fine for the speed you I was originally charged with BUT I will avoid all points on my Driver's License and avoid up to 4 years of insurance rate increases as well. It will not be reported to your State. This feels like such a racket! Please advise.

I was under the impression that it was not illegal to talk on a handheld phone in Georgia. I looked up the law here and it says the same thing: http://www.ghsa.org/state-laws/issues/Distracted-DrivingBut my friend just got pulled over who gave him a ticket for talking on the phone. He was not texting. He was talking with the phone in his lap on speakerphone. Please assist!

Hi. I was in a car accident in October 2016 (someone hit me from behind while in traffic) but they hit me hard and I had to tell my insurance. They told me to pay the deductible. I then began to feel pain and opened up a claim. To be honest I still feel pain but dropped the pain claim because it was too much for me to work and be glued to a chiropractor. I'm still waiting for my deductible but insurance said for sure I'm getting the money because it was obviously the other vehicles fault.Just now I'm turning to my left and with 2 lanes turning to the left, this old little lady who can barely see over the steering wheel, is turning as well on the lane next to me (I'm on the right lane turning left at the light and she's on the left lane turning left at the light) I go and continue on my lane and she somehow drifts over and hits me by the back right where I put gas in the car. So it's obvious that she's at fault. I'm waiting for the cops to come. I know I'm not at fault. There's really just a dent and scratch on my car and I'm late for work but she's trying to be tough and called the cops- meanwhile it was her fault. Is this something I should open up another claim for? And is this going to hurt my insurance. Will they drop me since it's 2 accidents (both not my fault ) ? Will my insurance go up? Should I just forget the dent and the scratch? What if she opens a claim. Her paint was more smudged than mine.

Man stopped given citation for no auto insurance. If he shows proof that he borrowed his sisters car and did not know she had no coverage will case be dismissed or will he still be obligated to pay the fine. He has coverage for his own vehicle.

I was given a ticket because the dump truck i drove had no muffler. it had straight pipes. But i told the officer that i was not the owner and still gave me a 800 ticket for no muffler when using the Jake brake. my question is if i could fight it in court, because first off i was just the driver and not the owner, and i did perform the proper pre-trip inspection and determined it was safe to operate, also why didnt the officer make the ticket to the company and not me. On the pre-trip all it asks for is to assure there is no exhaust leaks. Thanks.
