My wife and I have Term Care Insurance with Hancock through

My wife and I have Long Term Care Insurance with ***** *****cock through the Federal Long Term Care Insurance program. We have had this insurance for more than 10 years and have been regularly paying monthly premiums. I am 70 and my wife is 67 and at present neither of us would qualify for long term care. We have pension and social security monthly income, but do not have a significant amount in retirement savings. Recently, we received notice through the program that if we wanted to continue our present coverage which provides a 5% annual increase in the Daily Benefit Amount, the total monthly premium (for both of us) would increase from $520 to almost $1,300. If we want to keep our premium at $520 per month the annual increase in the DBA would be reduced to 2%. There is also a 3% option for about $300 more in premiums per month if I recall correctly. We were also offered the possibility of cancelling the policies for which we would be paid something like 30 times the DBA or about $6,000 each. I'm inclined to go with the option that would keep our monthly premium unchanged, but would appreciate any advice based on the above information. We need to decide within the next month. Thank you.JA: Because laws vary from state to state, could you tell me what state is this in?Customer: MassachusettsJA: Have you talked to a lawyer yet?Customer: NoJA: Anything else you think the lawyer should know?Customer: Not really. Unless there is some additional information required. As I said, my wife and I are presently in relatively good health, and at this point would not be candidates for long term care. The premium associated with the 2% annual increase in the DBA is about all I'd be willing to pay unless there was very good reason to go with the 3% annual increase.JA: When we are ready I'll take you to the appropriate web page.Customer: OK. Thank you. It seems to me like ***** *****cock is trying to push those who are presently insured out of the program with such a premium increase, and apparently the Federal Government is of no help here even though it was the government that promoted it.

I have been out of the US for 17 months due to father passing away.. I just came back a couple of months ago and I had to explain to border control officers a lot of information on why I had been gone for that long... I'm supposed to travel today for a couple of weeks but when I checked my luggage the agent asked me how long would I be gone for and why and if I lived in the US... my question is should I continue with my planned trip or just not risk it

I have lived in California my whole life. I intend to stay

I have lived in California my whole life. I intend to stay in California, however I plan to live on a sailboat and I want to travel on that boat. Live my life as I see fit. In that effort I took an address at a UPS Store in Burlingame California. My financial institutions (brokerages) advised me that my accounts are frozen until I get a "physical address". Doh, I live on a boat. No, you need a physical address, or your accounts will remain frozen. So I still do have an address to use, but I'm selling that property and again will have this issue at some point. Apparently this is because of the "Patriot Act".Anyway, I want to be "domiciled" in San Mateo county where my UPS Store is located, but evidently my money will be frozen if I use that address. Is there a way I can live my life without being harassed for my choices ?

Is there a cause of action that you know of off hand where a plaintiff files a lawsuit that he knows is frivolous and a misrepresentation of the facts, just to try to squeeze money out of someone? (The lawsuit has already survived a demurrer, but I believe the Court will see that he misrepresented facts on purpose and knew he did not have a lawsuit.)Thanks.

I moved in with my husband that I have known since we were

Good morning, I moved in with my husband that I have known since we were 12 years old. We live in a very old trailer circa approx. 1980 (trailer/mobile home came from Florida). My husband bought it for $1000 and gutted it and refurbished, insulated, dry walled, etc. to make it liveable for central New York state. The owner of the trailer park is very elderly. I question the receipt/deed that we have. It looks like a photo copy of a receipt for the sale of the trailer,it is singed in actual ink though. We want to sell the trailer to move down south but we don't understand how that works on a legal point. Can you give some advise on how to go about this please?
