Over the past several years, I've lost a large amount of money trading stocks and options with an on-line broker. I've also withdrawn large sums from the account. Did this on-line broker have any obligation to reach out to me and ask if I needed investment help?

This is a link to open a E*TRADE accounting. If you look at page 4 item 6 (3rd paragraph) it talks about the risks associated with investing and the possible loss of principal. Did you complete an application like this when you opened an account?
