Hi

I'm Anne. I've been preparing taxes for 27 years and I'll be happy to help you.

There is no guidance from the IRS on how people who file jointly need to split up a refund from a tax return filed jointly.

So, that means that you can split the refund anyway you would like. If you want to split it 50/50, that's fine.

If you feel that's unfair, then keep in mind that with no IRS guidance, you are free to split any refund from a joint return as you please, as long as you both agree to the split.

If you have further questions, please post them here and I'll be notified
