My client inherited a house but it is still in her fathers

Customer Question

My client inherited a house but it is still in her fathers name. She is now renting it out. Do I report this on Form 1041 for the estate of her personal 1040.

Thank you for your question. My name is ***** ***** I will be happy to help you today :-)
If she inherited the house and it is hers, then it goes on form 1040,
If it is in the estate it will be on form 1041
The client needs to go through probate and get the title changed to avoid confusion in the future
