I am a grandmother and my grandson will be going to a Catholic

This answer was rated:

I am a grandmother and my grandson will be going to a Catholic school when he starts kindergarten. If I pay for all or any of his tuition to this school, will it be tax deductible? Thank you.
Hi and welcome to JustAnswer:

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. There are no tax deductions available for your payment of tuition to Catholic school or any school for that matter.

There is a potential indirect benefit if you have a large estate ($5 million or more) If you make the payment directly to the school it will not be classified as a gift your grandson.
