My wife broke her leg badly while on vacation necessitating

This answer was rated:

My wife broke her leg badly while on vacation necessitating surgery, 5 weeks in rehab far from home, 1st class plane home while car was shipped, etc. Are these expenses and my motel and food deductible, or do they have to total 7+% of our yearly income.
The 7% rule goes to health related expenses such as doctor bills and medications.
The additional related expenses for motel and food would not be since not health care related.
However, consider a claim against the location where injured if there was any act of negligence or lack of care including seeking compensation for not only health expenses but the additional food and motel.
