IS THERE STILL A POLITIAL CREDIT

LEV :

Hi and welcome to Just Answer!
I am not clear what type of credit do you mean? Can you please specify?

Customer:

YOU KNOW. THE POLITICAL CREDIT THAT WAS $50 ON FED FOR MAKING A CONTRIBUTION

LEV :

If you are looking for the tax credit for contributions made to political organization - there is currently no provision within the IRS code to allow the tax credit...
You may claim a deduction - not credit for contributions made to charitable organizations – but there is no $50 limit for that...

Lev and other Tax Specialists are ready to help you

Some states however allow the tax credit for contributions made to political organization - but on their state tax returns only. For instance in Ohio - you can claim a credit against your tax for contributions of money you made during the year to the campaign committee of candidates for any of the following Ohio - see here - http://www.olt.com/main/tc/OH/594.asp
