If you are looking for the tax credit for contributions made to political organization - there is currently no provision within the IRS code to allow the tax credit...You may claim a deduction - not credit for contributions made to charitable organizations – but there is no $50 limit for that...
Some states however allow the tax credit for contributions made to political organization - but on their state tax returns only. For instance in Ohio - you can claim a credit against your tax for contributions of money you made during the year to the campaign committee of candidates for any of the following Ohio - see here - http://www.olt.com/main/tc/OH/594.asp
