Im waiting on my w-2 for 2011 and I'm trying to figure out my fica I made $53, 980 filing single what is my federal income tax? how do you caculate?

Good morning. It depends upon what your net taxable income is, not your gross income. You taxable income is your gross income less any deductions from your gross income .

Here are the 2011 tax brackets for taxable income..

15% Bracket $17,001 - $69,000$8,501 - $34,500
25% Bracket $69,001 - $139,350$34,501 - $83,600

35% Bracket Over $379,150
