Take the last information and now add this fact(s).My wife is about to purchase a home in Phoenix AZ and I want to know if I should be on the ownership document(s) filed.Once again I want become a TEXAN. Using the ESCAPEES RV Club using their address, register to vote in Texas, my bank USAA is already in Texas & register the vehicles in Texas, drivers license in TX, mailing address in Texas.Does AZ have any rules that says if my wife has a house in AZ & that I have to pay AZ taxes if I spend any time in that house? Or how much time; like you informed me about in OR in your last answer (30 days)? If I do this can AZ come after me for taxes or force my wife to pay taxes on my income like Oregon does (your last answer to me.)Would it be better to wait until my wife is on Social Security and we both move to TEXAS. But then again can we be TEXANS & own a house in AZ that we live in 6-8 months a year and NOT pay AZ taxes? We plan now to sell the OR property and of course never spend more than 30 days there before we sell the house to cut her out of paying OR property taxes again.Escapees RV Club XXXXXLivingston, TXNNN-NN-NNNNwww.escapees.comRespectfully, XXXXX XXXXX

Hi and welcome to Just Answer! Please see here - http://www.azdor.gov/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=HayDueJqQnI%3D&tabid=257&mid=878You are a resident of Arizona if your domicile is in Arizona.Domicile is the place where you have your permanent home. It is where you intend to return if you are living or workingtemporarily in another state or country. If you leave Arizona for a temporary period, you are still an Arizona resident while gone. A resident is subject to tax on all income no matter where the resident earns the income. If you are a nonresident, you must report income derived from Arizona sources.Just having a property in AZ - doesn't make you a resident - but AZ DOR might "think" that you are a resident - and you should be prepared to proof otherwise.
