IS NY UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE RECEIVED BY A NJ RESIDENT, TAXED IN NY OR NJ

Unemployment is not taxable in NJ, from any state. However, it is NY source income and is taxable to NY state. The taxpayer will still need to to a NY state nonresident return to show this income.
