can I get the 8,000 tax credit

Are you a first-time homebuyer?

Customer: replied 7 years ago.
yes , but I bought a condo in Febuary of 2007 and I have had that condo rented ever since I bought it I have never lived in it myself

If you didn't use it as your principal residence and haven't owned and used any other home as your principal residence for the prior 3 years, then you would be eligible for the credit. However, you must purchase a home before December 1, 2009 to qualify for the the $8,000 credit.
