can I deduct my federal taxes that I paid late, on next years return?
HiCustomerbr />Thank you for using justanswer. If you are asking about a Federal tax liability that you paid in 2009 that was for a prior year, and wondering if you can deduct that payment on your current year taxes, the answer is no. The payment of a Federal tax debt, unlike the payment of a state tax debt which is deductible on Form 1040 (Schedules A) Itemized Deductions is never deductible on your personal tax return. If this was not your question, please let me know.
