i dont remember the exact name, but is a refund tax office or something like that, and there were people from some other countries given their notes. When i received the check i went here in mexico to an exchange office and they received the check and gave me the dollars.
Hello again carolina, I think I figured out what it is you are referring to. Texas has a special law where they allow international visitors to claim back sales tax on items they purchased in the state of Texas. That is the office that you went to at the Galleria Mall in Houston, but that only applies to purchases made in Texas. It does not apply to purchases in other states. Florida does not participate in such a program. In fact, I believe at this time that Texas and Louisiana are the only two states that allow international visitors to claim back sales tax they paid on purchases inside of their states. Here is a link to the website that talks about the Texas sales tax refunds, and you will see it applies only to the state of Texas. Florida has no such refund available. http://www.txtaxback.com/indexenglish.html If this was helpful please press the Accept button. Thank you carolina, and let me know if you have more questions.
