Customer Question

if I receive a personal injury settlement which includes reimbursement of medical expenses can I deduct those medical expenses on my tax return?

A settlement for personal injury is not taxable if you did not take an itemized deduction for the medical expenses. If you take an itemized deduction for the expenses then the settlement is taxable.
