Hi there, welcome to Just Answer,

In order to give you a good estimate,

Can you tell me,

What type of income is the 30K (wages, self-employment earnings, etc)

How much federal tax was withheld,

What is your age and filing status,

What are the ages and identities of your dependents?

Customer: replied 8 years ago.
Reply to Wendy Rieger's Post: worked as a server/employment wages.
i claimed 5
my age is 39 and my status is single
my daughter she is 14 and my mom who is 65 also i am ahead of household.

Okay, so you claimed 5 exemptions on your W4, and you have 2 dependents.

You didn't tell me how much was taken out for federal, but based on your wages I will assume approx. $1100.

Assuming that all your tips were reported accordingly,

With head of household filing status, and two dependents, after claiming 5 exemtpions (assuming fed tax withheld of $1100) your estimated federal refund would be approx.
