Can my husband claim me as a dependent if I am a stay at home mom

Resolved Question:

We have a 2 year old son that I know we can claim as a dependent but I did not know if we could also claim me.

Hi there,

A spouse never claims another spouse as a dependent, but unless you are a non-resident alien, you may file your return jointly. This generally gives the couple the most advantageous filing status if only one works. The couple may take an exemption for each spouse, plus one each for any dependents.
