Subaru removed and re-installed the engine to install new

Customer Question

Subaru removed and re-installed the engine to install new head gaskets. The AC worked before the engine was removed, but does not work after the engine was re-installed. Could the mechanic have missed a step:
JA: Is this your first time dealing with this issue? What size is your engine?
Customer: 2.5 L. First time having the problem. Only occurred after the engine was removed and re-installed.
JA: What is the model/year of your Subaru?
Customer: 2001 Outback Limited
JA: Are you fixing your Outback yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: No - all of the work has been done by the Subaru dealer. I picked up the car today after the engine was re-installed, and noticed that the AC was not working when I was driving home.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Not that I can think of.

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose), my normal schedule online is around lunch and after dinner past midnight.

Is it just the AC, the cold air? The blower and hot air still works?

It is possible they forgot to recharge the AC, damaged a line causing a leak, damaged a pressure sensor or forgot to plug one back up. If you can do some diag I can help you figure this out.
