Last night the check engine , brake and cruise light started to blink.
JA: Does the light stay on, or does it blink?
Customer: I think it stays on. this is a 2011 Legacy
JA: Are you fixing your Legacy yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Nothing yet.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: I tried turning engine of and then on a few times.

ok try this. disconnect both terminal on the battery. touch them together for 15 seconds, reconnect them. see if the problem is fixed. you might need to go to advance auto or auto zone to have them erase the codes. also as unrelated as this may seem. take the gas cap off and put it back on tightly at least 3 clicks.

You may have several things going on and it will take some testing to determine what is happening. The engine light flashing should indicate a severe misfire, but if all of these lights started flashing at the same time then you may have an instrument cluster issue.

Have you used a code reader or scan tool to check for fault codes?

Did the problem start after a repair, jump start, accident, etc?
